Why is posture relevant to my workouts?
Remember
when your mom told you to stand up straight?
Well, she was on to something, even though
the delivery was annoying. We'd like to
think mom would be proud of us because a
great deal about pilates is about improving
posture by creating a "cast of muscle"
and a "shock absorber" around
your spine, preventing the jamming and squeezing
that comes with staying active, aging, or
injury. There's no way around it...without
a strong and supple spine and core, it's
a matter of time before injury, or just
plain exhaustion, takes over.
