Pilates

Will I be able to target my “problem areas” and finally do something about them?
If you are having trouble with a particular area of your body, you may be surprised to find your posture is the unlikely culprit. So much about effective muscle-building is about subtle changes in technique. Working with a qualified instructor can relieve frustration and save time, creating results faster than you ever thought possible. Here’s an example. If you have a flat butt, walk three miles a day, and feel like you have done every butt-building exercise on the planet and are still as flat as a board, you will be thrilled when your pilates instructor helps you recognize how to hold your pelvis, because if your pelvis is tucked under, you can squat all day and won’t achieve the bottom lifting effect you are looking for. However, by altering the position of your pelvis during your workouts, you will soon give J-LO a run for her money.

With the gentle guidance of a qualified pilates instructor and a few slight adjustments to your technique, culprit areas will actually take care of themselves. New awareness of posture = muscles you never knew you had in places you never dreamed would be affected by posture, like your triceps, shoulderblades, your calves, and your butt!
