Capoiera
at first glance, capoiera seems like a bunch of handsome guys jumping
around, playing instruments, doing cartwheels and various martial-arts-like
moves. capoeira is actually an afro-brasilian art form dating back four to
five hundred years from africa and brought to the new world, specifically to
brasil, by the portuguese, capoeira today is actually one of the most
popular sports in brasil, second only to soccer.
Capoiera combines a blend of martial arts, acrobatics, dance elements,
music, song, language, tradition, and culture, so not only is the one of the
most intense cardio vascular experiences of your life, it also essentially
has something for everybody. Constant motion for the cardio-worthy,
stimulating focus with techniques (you could get clobbered by a wayward foot
if you're not on the ball) , expression for your soul through movement and
music, capoiera is a guaranteed great time for anyone who is looking for a
fun and exhausting workout.

FAQ: What on earth IS it? How are instructors
certified? Will I feel like a complete dork
if I have never done anything like this?
Honey, most people have never done anything
like this...but it is well worth the go
and is simpler every time you try it.
